Rushing Life

Have you ever had one of those days when you are just in a rush, do not have the right amount of time type of days. You leave the house and in the back of your mind and you knew you forgot something? Lost your glasses and yet they were resting on the top of you head? Of course you have. We all have. This Saturday a co-worker of mine had the same problem, but rather than forgetting to close the garage door or turn off the kitchen light she put on two different types of shoes.

Here they are. A Nike and an Asic. I guess the only difference would be different brand and color. It wasn't like one of the shoes was a high heel and the other was a vibram. If you don't know what that is just take a looksie here: http://www.cogmap.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/vibram-five-fingers.jpg It's more like wearing a black and dark blue sock. We all have done it whether it was accidental or on purpose.

It was a simple mistake, but yet it was funny and it's ok. It was even a trend at one point, remember. The inside out shirts and sweaters. And with everything being retro these days if you do every accidentally wear your shirt inside out or wear two different shoes then just say you are being retro. What are some of your accidental rushed mishaps?

Scent, one our five scences. And this scence can either bring us pleasure or can ruin a moment. Latley I have been using scented candles, incense, air fresheners, etc. Not because our places smells or something, but I think the smell is a major characteristics to a place. It is LITERALLY the first thing you notice about a place:
*Stench
*Air Freshener
*Food Cooking. Just think of the scene in Ferris Bullers Day off when he is running home to beat his mom and sister. He runs through the strangers house and what does he say "Mmm, smells good".. "Dinner's ready".
Scents have meaning other then the fact that they are just a smell. They can bring back memories to either a good time, bad time, or reminds you of people.
Gardenias are my favorite flower because to me it has the best scent. GIO is the best men's cologne around. The smell of doughnuts can make me go queasy because of a certain incident when I was little. Then there are the scents that are so familiar yet you can't quiet place them. They are a part of your past and also a part of you.
Speaking of all these smells is actually making me hungry, unless I smell some menudo because that food smells just like it tastes, and that tastes gross!! Ick.. Hmm. What are some of you fav/ not fav smells?

Snow Adventure

So I thought I'd make my way down to the Valley this past weekend to visit my Mother. Thank goodness I had a friend with me because we went through an adventure I would never want to go through alone. The day we left it was said that there was a 100% chance of HEAVY SNOW on the grape vine. Having never driven through snow before I had no choice, but go a different route. Instead on simply going on the 5 through the G.V. we had to take the 58 through Bakersfield to MOJAVE where we had to catch the 14.

But that wasn't just it. Wouldn't you know it that in order to divert snow...we had to GO through snow. Wow. I was SOO not ready for that. And not only did we drive through the snow, but we were also forced off the road by a big rig. phew.. sigh..

Once we got back on the road we both prayed hoping for a safe trip. I made a compromise with The Big Guy. I told him that I would stop complaining about the long route if he helped us get home samely. Happy to say I kept my word and he followed through. High Five to the Big Guy!

Thankfully it was a nice sunny weekend, which was a much needed relief from the wetness of the North (still wet and raining as I sit here typing). And it remaind dry for the drive home.

Here is a pic of the snow that we had to steer clear of, but at a more tame mood. Families were there sledding, making snowmen, and having snow ball fights. So pretty, but hope I have to never take that long route again.

Stay warm all in this weather!!

The Dip

This morning I was in the kitchen and was suddenly interrupted by the man of my dreams. He spun me around, grabbed me, dip than kiss. Sigh.. A great way to start the morning and feel appreciated.. Thanks and Love you Boogie <3

The Run

As I had stated in my reolution blog, exercise is one of them. So, yesteday I made my way to Pena Adobe. A local park that is is pretty cool. It has a lake, which you would not want to go swimming in, with a trail around it that is 2.5 miles long. There is also other trails that go up into the hills and on the outskirts of the park. You can ride you bike or horse, which ever you prefer. You can walk your dog or take it to the dog park they have there. There is a bunch of wild life from birds, to rodents, and from what I have been told, mt lions. You can even see an occasional deer. Pretty cool, right?

I decided to run the 2.5 mile trail around the lake. Considering that I have not ran in ages I was set at a slow pace, Granny pace. I ran the distance and went I got to the beginning I stopped, stretched, and ran the trail again. 5 miles. Wow.. I can tell you, I am sore in ways that I have NEVER been sore. Hip flexors, never been sore....until today..Wow.. i am happy to have run the 5 miles. It was a bit of a leap on my part, but 2.5 miles just wasn't long enough of a run.

I wanted to start training for some sort of race.. Not necessarily to race and be competitive, but just to do something different and be able to finish it. Right now I am thinking of a half trialthalon: .5 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3 mile run. I am no where near that point yet, but hopefully I CAN.. We shall see.. Might go run tonight to loosen up these muscles because boy are they tight.

New Favorite Show

This show was a brilliant idea. Four old women with different personalities.
1) Doesn't have a filter
2) Dim wit/ has the mind of a child
3) The permisscuis one
4) The glue

I found myself watching this show till 12 o'clock midnight. I was also laughing harder than I have in a very long time. It was an episode where they were showing clips of past episodes. The clip was of Rose standing on what was a pier with a megaphone.

Animals can coexist. They do where I come from. The brown bear and the field mouse can live together in harmony. Though they cannot mate or the mouse would explode.

The look on her face was priceless, she was so serious. And then there is Sophia, the Mother. Oh my goodness. I hope to have the wits and humor of her when I am 84.. ha ha I am seriously contemplating buying the seasons.. This goes on my likes list of having the day off from work. The Golden Girls are ALWAYS on in the middle of the day :)

New Ways to Live Life For 2010

So being at church on Sunday it gave me 3 good ways to try and make my life better for this year. You might want to enter these into your life. I guess you can say that these are my resolutions. Amongst others. I'll put all, not just the three I leanred at church.
1)Give back insults with blessings. I think this is actually a good one. Someone may think they are so cool for trying to but someone down, but how foolish do they feel when they cannot bring down the spirit of others. Plus, you will just feel better when they can't bring you down.
2) Don't talk trash. Don't speak of gossip of others. You don't lik eit when it's done to you so dont do it to others. Don't use foul language. You aren't cool when you use it.
3) Eliminate Complaint. When you complain you are just asking people to be sympathetic for you. If you are having a bad day and someone asks how you are doing, even you aren't, answer with fabulous. Try and be positive and look to the brighter side.

Those are the ones from church. There are a few that i just need to do for myself.
4) Stop being a procrastinator. It would feel great not having to cram or rush an assignment.
5) Start exercising
6) Cook something new at least once a week.

Lets see how these go and if I can actually live by them. Below put down your resolutions, that is if you have any. Have a FABULOUS year and
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
